Formed in 1981, Queensrÿche emerged among many of the pop-metal band of the 80s with a progressive sound, drawing from the post-Van Halen guitar acrobatics and influences from Pink Floyd and Queen. Their best known breakthrough hit, 'Silent Lucidity,' from the album 'Empire' was the band's first Top 10 single.
