Shawn Colvin

Folk, Rock
Shawn Colvin is one of those rare performers, like Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, or her youthful idol Joni Mitchell, who has been able to grow up alongside her audience and mature into her role as singer and songwriter. Although she was rewarded with a Best Contemporary Folk Grammy for her 1989 debut disc, 'Steady On,' Colvin didn’t reach a broad mainstream audience until eight years later, when her story of a housewife’s fiery revenge, 'Sunny Came Home,' became an unlikely top ten pop single fifteen months after the album it was taken from, 'A Few Small Repairs,' was released.

Matisyahu

Reggae, Rap/Hip Hop
In the crowded New York reggae scene, Hasidic reggae musician Matisyahu literally stands out like no other. This young lyricist, MC and beatboxer became a singular performer whose power, poetry and skills combined the sounds of Bob Marley and Shlomo Carlebach while remaining wholly original. Despite recently shaving his long beard to the chagrin of some fans/followers, Matisyahu continues to explore traditional Jewish themes and spirituality by mixing in ever-more exploratory journeys into reggae, rock and hip-hop beatboxing sounds. This current tour, 'An Acoustic Evening with Matisyahu,' gives fans an intimate and personal experience showcasing the simple and profound statements of Matisyahu’s music and lyrics, his incredible vocal range and raw beatbox talents. This sit-down-style concert spans the entire scope of his music career and is followed by an audience question and answer session where Matisyahu tells personal stories and gives insight into his musical techniques and artistic inspiration.
